The Walker Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matchups by 20 points or more this season. They breezed by Amite on the road to the tune of 72-32. Winning may never get old, but Walker sure is getting used to it with their 18th in a row.
It was another big night for Kennedi Ard, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 17 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Eddards, who scored 12 points along with five assists and five steals.
Walker's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-1. As for Amite, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-3.
Walker will head out on the road to face off against Washington-Marion at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Washington-Marion will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 139th, while Walker is ranked second). Amite will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pine at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
