The Austin Achieve Polar Bears's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Caldwell Hornets at 6:15 p.m. on December 15th. Austin Achieve comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last 11 games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Last Tuesday, Austin Achieve took a serious blow against Taylor, falling 76-12. Austin Achieve has struggled against Taylor recently, as their game on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Caldwell's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight loss. They lost to Smithville at home by a decisive 49-30 margin.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Riley Broaddus, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyniah Johnson, who scored seven points.
Austin Achieve's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-10. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.0 points per game. As for Caldwell, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13-1 record this season.
Austin Achieve was taken down by Caldwell 47-9 when the teams last played back in January. Can Austin Achieve avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
