Sadie Olson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Carney, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Myrtle Beach came into Monday's matchup having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Waccamaw by a score of 11-7 on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Seahawks needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Lilly Langway was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Langway was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Trinity King, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Shianne Needle also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Myrtle Beach always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Myrtle Beach picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 5-14. As for North Myrtle Beach, their record now sits at 12-10.
North Myrtle Beach took their victory against Myrtle Beach when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chiefs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
