Tushka is 1-9 against Caddo since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Tushka Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Caddo Bruins at 8:00 p.m. Tushka will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 277th, while Caddo is ranked 87th).
Last Tuesday, Tushka strolled past Coalgate with points to spare, taking the game 38-20. Tushka pushed the score to 31-10 by the end of the third, a deficit Coalgate cut but never quite recovered from.
Tushka got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tagen Simon out in front who scored eight points along with seven assists and five rebounds. Simon hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Gibson, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Caddo waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with six straight wins but they left with seven. Everything went their way against Kiowa as Caddo made off with a 67-44 win. Caddo has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Tushka's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-12. As for Caddo, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Tushka took a serious blow against Caddo when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 76-40. Can Tushka avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
