There's no place like home for Viewmont, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against the Northridge Knights on Monday as they made off with a 15-5 victory. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Kimball Essig, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Kade Marriott was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Viewmont was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Viewmont's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Northridge, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Viewmont will take on Clearfield at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight. As for Northridge, they will square off against Bountiful at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The RedHawks will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight.
