They never let Wake Prep Academy get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Wednesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Falcons as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Rachael Baldyga made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Baldyga was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one double.
In other batting news, Sophia Cerneka was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Claire Phelps, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Green Hope kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 6-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Panther Creek has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Green Hope, their win bumped their record up to 8-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Panther Creek has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Green Hope struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
