The Beaver Bobcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Hampton Talbots at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Beaver proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against North Catholic, sneaking past 6-5. The win continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won six in a row.
Jaedyn Brown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on 12 hits.
At the plate, Rhiannon Rabassi was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bridget Mayo, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one double.
Meanwhile, Hampton waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Bobcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Talbots have posted since April 15, 2024.
Marissa Snyder was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off 11 hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two).
In other batting news, Eden Lawrence was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). Teresa Fritsch was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Beaver's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Hampton, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Beaver couldn't quite finish off Hampton in their previous meeting on Saturday and fell 7-5. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
