Basketball Recap: Pike County Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

Pike County won the last time they faced Kendrick, and Kerrah Foster did her part to make sure it happened again. The Pike County Pirates blew past the Kendrick Cherokees 50-15 on Tuesday thanks in part to Foster, who posted 21 points and five rebounds. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2023.

The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Lewis, who earned three points and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 16 games she's played dating back to last season.

The victory made it two in a row for Pike County and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for Kendrick, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pike County will welcome Academy for Classical Education at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pike County's defense has only allowed 27.8 points per game this season, so Academy for Classical Education's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Kendrick, they will be playing at home against Jordan at 6:00 p.m. on December 17th. Kendrick is facing Jordan at the right time seeing as Jordan is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
