On Friday, Andrew Jackson earned a 63-56 victory over University Christian. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Christians are ranked 219th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Jahari Simmons, who went 11 of 26 on his way to 16 points along with six assists and six boards. That's the most boards he has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Williams, who posted six points in addition to five assists and five boards.
Andrew Jackson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Fleming Island beat Creekside 66-53 on Friday.
Fleming Island found their leader in sophomore Carson Crawford, who went 10 of 14 on his way to 22 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The contest was Crawford's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kameron Baskin, who had nine points in addition to seven assists and six boards.
Fleming Island's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Andrew Jackson, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Andrew Jackson hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 65.8 points per game. However, it's not like Fleming Island struggles in that department as they've been averaging 67.6 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Andrew Jackson was able to grind out a solid win over Fleming Island in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, winning 53-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Andrew Jackson since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
