Baseball Recap: Delcambre Has No Trouble Against Westgate

After only two runs in their last match, Delcambre made sure to put some runs up on the board against Westgate on Wednesday. The Delcambre Panthers were the clear victor by a 17-4 margin over the Westgate Tigers. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Tucker Zager, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Cru Arceneaux was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.

Delcambre always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westgate only posted an OBP of .304.

The win got Delcambre back to even at 10-10. As for Westgate, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Delcambre Panthers take on St. Martinville Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Westgate, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Vermilion at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Westgate has given up an average of 12.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
