Whitefish and Columbia Falls are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2014, but not for long. The Whitefish Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Columbia Falls Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Whitefish was fully in charge, breezing past Browning 50-14 at home.
Carson Gulick was on fire: he threw for 302 yards and five touchdowns while completing 82.6% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Dane Hunt was in the mix too, providing Whitefish with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Columbia Falls entered their tilt with Ronan with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Columbia Falls didn't even let Ronan onto the board and left with a 53-0 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for Columbia Falls, who have now won six matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.
It was another big night for Cody Schweikert, who threw for 201 yards and four touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Banyan Johnston, who rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Whitefish is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for Columbia Falls, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-2.
Whitefish didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Columbia Falls in their previous matchup back in September, but they still walked away with a 20-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Whitefish since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
