The Mesquite Skeeters''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 52-26 loss at the hands of North Forney. Mesquite was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-6.
Mesquite's defeat was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-2 Rockwall and 7-5 Royse City (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 55.5% over those games). As for North Forney, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
Mesquite will be playing in front of their home fans against Rockwall at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rockwall will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for North Forney, they will head out on the road to face off against Tyler Legacy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tyler Legacy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 215th, while North Forney is ranked 90th).
