They took down Divine Savior Academy - Sienna 51-32. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Elijah Burris continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 179 yards and five touchdowns on only ten carries. Kole Calhoun also helped out as he racked up 119 rushing yards.
Brazosport Christian's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was James Moore and his 2.5 sacks.
When it comes to explaining why Divine Savior Academy - Sienna lost, one person who can't be blamed is Justin Abboud. Despite the final result, he rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries. Jacob Abboud also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Brazosport Christian's win was their fourth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 5-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-5 Second Baptist University-Model and 1-5 Founders Christian (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 28.8% over those games). As for Divine Savior Academy - Sienna, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Brazosport Christian will look to defend their home field on Friday against Alpha Omega Academy at 7:00 p.m. As for Divine Savior Academy - Sienna, they will head out on the road to face off against Baytown Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Baytown Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Divine Savior Academy - Sienna likes a good challenge.
