On Friday, Pickerington North strolled past Hilliard Darby with points to spare, taking the game 35-16. Given Pickerington North's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Hilliard Darby is ranked 87th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Pickerington North can attribute much of their success to Michael Taylor, who rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon O'connell, who threw for 186 yards and three touchdowns.
Pickerington North's win was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 11-1. As for Hilliard Darby, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Pickerington North will head out on the road to face off against Hilliard Bradley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hilliard Darby does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
