The South Bronx Prep Cougars's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Moore Catholic Mavericks at 2:30 p.m. on January 15th. South Bronx Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 134th, while Moore Catholic is ranked 25th).
Last Saturday, South Bronx Prep came up short against Albany and fell 61-54.
Meanwhile, Moore Catholic was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 53-47 to Notre Dame Academy.
Despite the loss, Moore Catholic had strong showings from Brianna Caliri, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds, and Veronica Barbato, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Barbato has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Costanzo, who scored six points along with three steals.
South Bronx Prep's record now sits at 7-5. Moore Catholic's record is now 9-3.
