Oswego's Jordan Noel rumbled for the longest rushing play in Southwest Prairie this season in his game against Plainfield Central last week. Noel's team topped the Wildcats as he sprinted for 89 yards on the play and finished with 80 in all.
Oswego extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Plainfield Central, 42-13. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
The Panthers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brett Wainwright threw for 66 and one touchdown and Mickeel Stewart had 38 yards receiving. On the ground Stewart chipped in 129 yards. Elliot McGaughy helped Oswego's passing attack out by catching one ball for 28 yards.
Oswego's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Wainwright has thrown for 792 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Jack Kwiatkowski has 25 catches for 545 yards. Stewart leads the league in rushing with 1087 yards.
The top two teams in Southwest Prairie will face off this week when first place Oswego takes on second place Plainfield North. Oswego topped John Jackson's team last week, while Plainfield North defeated Oswego East.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Panthers take on the Tigers. Oswego has allowed 138 points this season, while Plainfield North has given up 154. The Panthers allowed 13 points last week as they beat the Wildcats.
Plainfield South took down Plainfield East 34-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
