The Highlands Ranch Falcons posted their biggest win since December 18, 2023 on Thursday. Everything went their way against Heritage as Highlands Ranch made off with a 61-37 victory. Given Highlands Ranch's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Heritage is ranked 162nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Highlands Ranch got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ezra Simonich out in front who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Kniyah Dumas, who scored 11 points along with five assists and two steals.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Skylar Peterson, who scored eight points. Caelan DeBolt was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.
Highlands Ranch is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Heritage, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.
Highlands Ranch will head out on the road to take on Pine Creek at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pine Creek will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Heritage will take on Littleton at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Littleton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
