If The Maret Frogs were feeling good off their 43-21 takedown of the Potomac School Panthers last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Maret took a 47-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Flint Hill on Friday. It was the first time this season that Maret let down their fans at home.
Flint Hill can attribute much of their success to Caleb West, who threw for 307 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per attempt, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Ty Harris, who picked up 103 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Maret's defeat dropped their record down to 8-1. As for Flint Hill, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Maret does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Flint Hill will be playing in front of their home fans against St. James at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. St. James will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 87th in Maryland, while Flint Hill is ranked 18th in Virginia).
