The Anacostia Indians waltzed into their match Monday with four straight wins but they left with five. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 46-29 victory over Woodson. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Anacostia also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Anacostia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nayjah Duvall led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Duvall's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of LaNiya Jackson, who scored six points along with ten rebounds.
Anacostia's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Woodson, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Anacostia will be home for the holidays to greet School Without Walls at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Woodson will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Coolidge at 5:30 p.m. on January 10, 2024.
