Even though the Altamont Knights have not done well against the Cornerstone Eagles recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Altamont secured a 57-51 W over the Eagles. Winning may never get old, but Altamont sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Despite the loss, Cornerstone still got an impressive performance from Abdul Lanier, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Lanier has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last three times he's played. De'Marion Burks was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine assists.
Altamont is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 15-9 record this season. As for Cornerstone, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-16.
Altamont won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Westminster School at Oak Mountain will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. Cornerstone does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
