The Landon Bears will square off against the Avalon Black Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Landon will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Landon barely beat Episcopal the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bears blew past the Maroon 13-4 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Landon got a great performance from Bo White as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts White has posted since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Ben Pollack was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Fred Malek, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
Landon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Episcopal only posted an OBP of .231.
Meanwhile, Avalon was able to grind out a solid win over Georgetown Day on Monday, taking the game 9-5. The Black Knights haven't had any issues with the Mighty Hoppers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Evan Stepanik 1 looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Avalon is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 3-11 otherwise.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Javeth Carrion, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was his first of the season. Judah Knight was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Landon pushed their record up to 15-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Avalon, their win bumped their record up to 5-12.
Avalon's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Landon has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .467. It's a different story for Avalon, though, as they've only averaged .362. Will they be able to contain Landon's hitters?
Landon beat Avalon 8-4 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Black Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
