The Middleburg Broncos will face off against the University Christian Christians at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
Friday just wasn't the day for Middleburg's offense. They fell just short of Palatka by a score of 1-0 on Friday. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Broncos were not able to get on the board.

| 02/18/25 vs Interlachen | 1 |
| 02/10/25 vs Bradford | 1 |
Logan Wehrmeyer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
Meanwhile, University Christian posted their closest win since May 8, 2024 on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past North Florida Christian 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Christians.
Caden Worbington made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Worbington was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Corey Wimberly and Bryson Harnage did most of the damage at the plate: Wimberly got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, while Harnage scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
University Christian pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Middleburg, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Middleburg has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like University Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Middleburg came up short against University Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 4-0. Will Middleburg have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
