On Thursday, Bishop Ryan lost to St. John on the road by a decisive 70-51 margin. While losing is never fun, Bishop Ryan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while St. John is ranked 24th).
Alani Morin was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 17 points, 12 rebounds, and ten assists for St. John. That's the first time this season that Morin posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Kennley Davis, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Bishop Ryan's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-6. As for St. John, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
Bishop Ryan will take on Berthold at TBD on Tuesday. As for St. John, they will be playing at home against Midway/Minto at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Midway/Minto sitting on three straight wins and St. John on five.
