Softball Recap: Annapolis Has No Trouble Against Thurston

Annapolis's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They put the hurt on the Thurston Eagles with a sharp 23-6 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won ten contests by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Annapolis got a massive performance out of Lexi Cadzow 2026, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Cadzow 2026 a new career-high. Mia Straight 2025 also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Annapolis kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive matchups.

Annapolis is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Thurston, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Annapolis will venture away from home to challenge Grosse Ile at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars are facing the Red Devils at the right time seeing as the Red Devils are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Thurston, they are taking a road trip to face off against Garden City at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
