After losing to the Edinburg North Cougars the last time they met, the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Bears decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo managed a 39-34 victory over Edinburg North on Friday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pharr-San Juan-Alamo to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rebeca Tinoco, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Jackie Molina was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo's win bumped their record up to 9-18. As for Edinburg North, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-15.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo will square off against Mission at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Edinburg North, they will head out on the road to challenge Edinburg at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Edinburg's favor as the team sits on nine straight wins at home while Edinburg North has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
