Lackawanna 1 recap October 1, 2013
Scranton Prep was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after defeating North Pocono. The Cavaliers came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 29 last week.
Delaware Valley scaled the state rankings by moving to 93 from 132 this week, the biggest jump in Lackawanna 1. The Warriors were able to move up by topping West Scranton 34-0.
J.C. Show threw for 138 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Joe Carroll was the best wideout in the league this week as Abington Heights bested Wallenpaupack Area. Carroll racked up 4 receptions for 70 yards. Nathan Hollander helped Abington Heights' passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 40 yards.
The Comets' Show and Hollander led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Show has thrown for 685 yards this season, while Hollander, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 24 catches for 305 yards. Jovaughn Marshall from the Buckhorns leads the league in rushing with 700 yards.
A big matchup in Lackawanna 1 this week will be when Abington Heights takes on Valley View. At the moment, Joe Repshis' team is in second, while the Cougars are in fourth.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Scranton Prep beat the Trojans 42-14. The win marks fifth in a row for the Nick Donato's team.
