After flying high against the Engadine Eagles on Tuesday, the Brimley Bays came back down to earth. Brimley fell 77-68 to Pickford on Thursday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Tuesday (64), Brimley still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Brimley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Trey Lynn. Despite the final result, he dropped a triple-double on 22 points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists. Lynn also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Perry LeBlanc, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Brimley were working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Brimley has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Pickford, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brimley will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sault Area at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Pickford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Michigan Christian Academy at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
