The North Augusta Yellow Jackets will head out to challenge the South Florence Bruins at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. North Augusta is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
North Augusta is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over Midland Valley. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Yellow Jackets.
Lia Allen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, North Augusta let Ayla Holmes and Emily Cloy run wild. Holmes went 2-for-3 with one home run, while Cloy went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Cloy a new career-high. Celeste Truesdale was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
North Augusta hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in 14 consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, South Florence waltzed into their game on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 7-3.
South Florence also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Payton Perry gave up only one earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits. Perry has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Page White was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Alaina Floyd, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
South Florence's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-7. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for North Augusta, their record is now 15-11.
North Augusta took their victory against South Florence in their previous matchup back in May of 2022 by a conclusive 12-0 score. Will the Yellow Jackets repeat their success, or do the Bruins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
