On Friday, the Mullen Mustangs's game was all tied up 17-17 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against ThunderRidge by a score of 46-36. The win made it back-to-back wins for Mullen.
Among those leading the charge was Allison Schwertner, who scored 10 points along with 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Jones, who scored 6 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 blocks.
ThunderRidge's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chloe Parker, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Candace "CC" Baker, who scored 8 points along with 4 steals.
Mullen's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for ThunderRidge, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Mullen will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Cherokee Trail at 3:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Cherokee Trail knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Mullen likes a good challenge. As for ThunderRidge, they will take on Castle View at 1:20 p.m. on Saturday.
