The Rockford Auburn Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Guilford Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Rockford Auburn sitting on eight straight wins and Guilford on 13.
In what's become a running theme this season, Rockford Auburn gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. They breezed by Hononegah at home to the tune of 77-48. Rockford Auburn pushed the score to 58-37 by the end of the third, a deficit Hononegah had little chance of recovering from.
Rakim Chaney continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 41 points along with six steals and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Amir Danforth, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, even though Lindblom scored an imposing 65 points on Saturday, Guilford still came out on top. Guilford took their contest against Lindblom 72-65.
Rockford Auburn is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 21 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season. As for Guilford, they pushed their record up to 24-4 with that win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.
Rockford Auburn came up short against Guilford in their previous meeting back in January, falling 54-47. Can Rockford Auburn avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
