Santa Fe Indian suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They fell just short of Robertson by a score of 32-30. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Santa Fe Indian in their matchups with Robertson: they've now lost nine in a row.
Meanwhile, St. Michael's scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Wednesday. They snuck past Santa Fe with a 60-56 win. The victory was just what St. Michael's needed coming off of a 55-35 loss in their prior match.
St. Michael's got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Elsie Odai out in front who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds and four steals. Odai continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jada Lujan, who scored 12 points along with five steals.
Santa Fe Indian has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season. As for St. Michael's, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Santa Fe Indian didn't have too much breathing room in their game against St. Michael's in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 53-49 win.
