Baseball Recap: Williams Has No Trouble Against Red Mesa

Williams got themselves on the board against Red Mesa on Saturday, but Red Mesa never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 21-0 margin over the Redskins. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Redskins recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Tytus Hollenbeck and Anthony Soto made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Hollenbeck tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Soto tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Hollenbeck scored two runs while going 3-for-3, while Soto scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Hollenbeck has become a key player for Williams: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

In other batting news, Williams got a massive performance out of Jack Dent, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Dent a new career-high in RBI (three). Q Ford was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Williams kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 10.4.

Williams' record now sits at 8-5. As for Red Mesa, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Williams will welcome Needles at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Williams will need to watch out since Needles has now posted at least ten runs in their last seven games. As for Red Mesa, they are taking a road trip to take on Many Farms at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
