It was another big night for Austin Sampson, who almost dropped a triple-double on 22 points, nine assists, and 12 steals for Tempe Prep. Sampson is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Cyalan Cotton, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Sequoia Pathway Academy's loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Tempe Prep, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sequoia Pathway Academy will take on St. Augustine Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tempe Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chandler Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chandler Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Tempe Prep likes a good challenge.
