After three games on the road, Braymer is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Breckenridge Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Braymer pushed their score all the way to 57 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to Grundy County/Newtown-Harris.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Carter Shoe, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Stone, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Breckenridge's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Brunswick, falling 69-18. While losing is never fun, Breckenridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 524th, while Brunswick is ranked 98th).
Braymer's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Breckenridge, they bumped their record down to 1-5 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Braymer against Breckenridge in their previous matchup back in January of 2015 as the team secured a 57-29 win. With Braymer ahead 38-15 at the half, the game was all but over already.
