The Camden Blue Devils waltzed into their game  Sunday with seven straight wins  but they left with eight. They walked away with  a   59-51  win over Vernon-Verona-Sherrill. Given Camden's advantage  in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings  (they are ranked 28th, while Vernon-Verona-Sherrill is ranked 652nd), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Vernon-Verona-Sherrill lost  despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being   Eliijah Donegan, who  dropped  a double-double on 19 points and 12  rebounds. The  match was  Donegan's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Degaragen Paradis, who  scored seven points along with seven  rebounds and six  blocks.
 Camden's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, they have  been struggling recently, as they've  lost three of their last four games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Camden will take on Notre Dame at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Notre Dame is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Central Valley Academy at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. One thing working in Central Valley Academy's favor is that they have posted big  point totals  every time they've taken the court this season.
