The Auburn Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Lincoln Abes at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Auburn is looking to tack on another W to their eight-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Auburn was beaten by Auburn Riverside 41-14. Auburn was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-0.
Meanwhile, Lincoln had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They took down Spanaway Lake 24-7.
The critical scores for Lincoln came from Sebastian Esekielu, Jemani Teplasy, and Jadeon Scranton.
The team won by holding Spanaway Lake to a paltry 191 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Lincoln's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out seven times before it was all said and done. The heavy lifting was done by Esekielu and Kaivone Cooks who racked up five sacks between them.
Auburn Riverside's win bumped their season record to 6-3 while Auburn's defeat dropped theirs to 7-2.
