The Sonora Broncos put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Christoval 46-0 at home. Considering Sonora has won seven contests by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Edgar Deluna was his usual excellent self, rushing for 186 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Deluna hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Lozano, who rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Despite the loss, Christoval still got an impressive performance from Manuel Riojas, who rushed for 114 yards while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.
Sonora's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-0. As for Christoval, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Sonora will head out on the road to face off against Forsan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Christoval, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Reagan County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
