Basketball Recap: Ware Shoals Piles Up the Points Against GREEN Upstate

Ware Shoals won the last time they faced GREEN Upstate and things went their way on Thursday too. The Ware Shoals Hornets took their contest with ease, bagging a 53-23 win over the GREEN Upstate Owls. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 23 points or more this season.

Ware Shoals found their leader in sophomore Stella Eichhorn, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Eichhorn is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Davis, who went 6 for 13 en route to 15 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Ware Shoals, bringing their record for this year to 10-10. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points per game. As for GREEN Upstate, they dropped their record down to 0-14 with the loss, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ware Shoals will host Dixie at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for GREEN Upstate, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Calhoun Falls Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
