After two games on the road, Discovery Canyon is heading back home. They will take on the Lewis-Palmer Rangers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Discovery Canyon put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Monday. They blew past Cheyenne Mountain 58-37. The victory was just what Discovery Canyon needed coming off of a 70-39 loss in their prior matchup.
Discovery Canyon can attribute much of their success to Natalie Neuhaus, who scored 14 points along with four steals, and Meghan Storch, who scored 13 points along with two steals. Storch hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. Isabelle Ackerman was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Lewis-Palmer entered their tilt with Lutheran with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Lewis-Palmer sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-41 win over Lutheran on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Lewis-Palmer has posted yet this season.
Discovery Canyon's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Lewis-Palmer, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Discovery Canyon came up short against Lewis-Palmer when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 52-46. Can Discovery Canyon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
