Reynolds' advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked seventh in North Carolina, while Alcoa is ranked 44th in Tennessee), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
A.C. Reynolds' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Julie Janus led the charge by scoring nine points along with seven assists. Peyton Harvey was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds.
A.C. Reynolds' victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Alcoa, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Alcoa and Maryville will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Maryville is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
