The Palmer Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 68-23 defeat at the hands of Nebraska Christian. Palmer was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-14.
Nebraska Christian was led to victory by Oliver Herman and Micah Perdew. Herman dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Perdew scored 28 points along with two steals. That makes it 16 consecutive games in which Perdew has scored at least a third of Nebraska Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Nathan Bashige, who scored five points along with nine rebounds.
Palmer has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season. As for Nebraska Christian, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-14.
Palmer didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-44 defeat vs. High Plains on the 10th. Nebraska Christian will head out on the road to face off against Omaha Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Nebraska Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.
