Jacob Thesing spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Eric Herzberg was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Blaken, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau and Arcadia meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Red Hawks blew past the Raiders 12-4.
Caiden Brady was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Brady was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau got a massive performance out of Jackson Burns, who went 4-for-5 with three runs and two RBI. Those four hits gave Burns a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nathan Holthaus, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arcadia struck out nine times.
Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Melrose-Mindoro, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.
Melrose-Mindoro came out on top in a nail-biter against Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
