Iona Prep is 9-1 against Monsignor Farrell since October of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Gaels will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions  at 7:00  p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Iona Prep comes in on 16 and Monsignor Farrell on three.
Iona Prep is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another  one of New York's top teams: Chaminade, who was ranked 13th  at the time (Iona Prep was ranked first). The Gaels put the hurt on the Flyers with a sharp  33-9 win on Saturday. Give the Gaels' offense some serious credit: that high-scoring performance was actually the fewest  points they've scored all season.

Iona Prep had a senior duo take command as  Crew Davis rushed for 137 yards and a pair of  touchdowns and  Julian Guzman rushed for 122 yards and one  score on only 12 carries. Those 122  rushing yards set a new season-high mark for  Guzman.
 Iona Prep was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 297  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Monsignor Farrell humbled  Fordham Prep with  a  42-14 victory. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 23  points or more this season.
Iona Prep better focus on containing  Bryce Moye and  Gianni Pasqulone as the pair were huge in Monsignor Farrell's win. Moye threw for 253 yards and three  TDs while completing 91.7% of his passes, while  Pasqulone gained 141 total yards and two touchdowns. Those  253  passing yards gave  Moye a new career-high.  Kevin Gumb Jr helped  Moye out on the ground, rushing for 63 yards and one  score on only eight carries.
 On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Monsignor Farrell's defense and their three sacks. In that department,  Insalaco Michael was the leader with two.
 Iona Prep's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Monsignor Farrell, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Friday's  game will pit two  of the most dominant  backs against one another:  Davis and  Gumb Jr. Davis just won't slow down this season and  has run in 10 touchdowns while averaging 114.3 rushing yards per game. Gumb Jr has been a dominant force too and  has run in 11 touchdowns while averaging 121.2 rushing yards per game.
 Iona Prep took their  victory against Monsignor Farrell  in their previous meeting  back in November of 2024 by a conclusive  35-15 score. Will the Gaels repeat their success,  or do  the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
