If the Orange Lutheran Lancers were riding high off their 68-46 takedown of the Servite Friars last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Orange Lutheran was outmatched by the Braves on the road and fell 87-59. While losing is never fun, Orange Lutheran can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 187th, while the Braves are ranked third).
St. John Bosco was led to victory by Elzie Harrington and Brandon McCoy Jr. Harrington scored 19 points along with seven steals, while McCoy Jr scored 27 points along with three blocks. McCoy Jr hasn't dropped below 19 points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Turner, who scored 11 points.
Orange Lutheran has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season. As for St. John Bosco, their victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-5.
Orange Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now. St. John Bosco will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trailblazers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sierra Canyon knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight games -- so hopefully the Braves like a good challenge.
