The Parklane Academy Pioneers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 26 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Franklin County 61-26 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-10.
Parklane Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Halle Bennett out in front who scored 16 points. Zoe Alford was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Parklane Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Franklin County, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Parklane Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hillcrest Christian at 6:00 p.m. on December 29th. Franklin County will be home for the holidays to greet Amite County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Amite County is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
