Merino took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They breezed by the Strasburg Indians to the tune of 46-19. The victory was nothing new for the Rams as they're now sitting on 28 straight dating back to last season.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Natalie Damron, who posted six points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Damron is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mckenna Sell, who put up six points.
Merino wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 62-27 win against Wray on the 7th. As for Strasburg, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 48-38 defeat against Denver Christian on the 13th.
