It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Calvary Christian Academy had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Golden Tornadoes 81-37 on the road. That 44 point margin sets a new team best for Calvary Christian Academy this season.
Calvary Christian Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Collin Paul, who scored 15 points along with two steals, and John Roland, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Paul continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cayden Daughtry, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, North Broward Prep had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 51.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 57-46 victory over American Heritage. Given North Broward Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while American Heritage is ranked 121st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Calvary Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for North Broward Prep, their win bumped their record up to 21-6.
Calvary Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid win over North Broward Prep in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, winning 53-41. Will Calvary Christian Academy repeat their success, or does North Broward Prep have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
