Whitko is a perfect 3-0 against Lewis Cass since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Wildcats will square off against the Kings at 5:30 p.m. Whitko is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
Whitko came out on top against Maconaquah on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Braves. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won six games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Addie Garr, who gave up just three hits and racked up 18 Ks to keep Maconaquah off the board. Garr has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Chloe Keen and Kaylee Adkins did most of the damage at the plate: Keen went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Adkins went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those three runs gave Keen a new career-high.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Whitko kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Lewis Cass hadn't done well against Northwestern recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Kings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Tigers. The victory was some much needed relief for the Kings as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Ruth (Amma) Fitzhugh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Laney Davis, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Ava Hubner, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
Whitko's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Lewis Cass, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 3-6.
Lewis Cass' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Whitko has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .484. It's a different story for Lewis Cass, though, as they've only averaged .331. Will they be able to contain Whitko's hitters?
Whitko came out on top in a nail-biter against Lewis Cass in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Kings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
