Softball Recap: Grayslake North Finds Home Field Redemption Against Round Lake

There's no place like home for Grayslake North, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They never let the Round Lake Panthers get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Tuesday. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Brena Dalton was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Dalton was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Grayslake North got a massive performance out of Lauren Gaeding, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Gaeding has posted since back in April. Alyson Alvarenga also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Grayslake North kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are 9-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Grayslake North moved to 14-9 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Round Lake, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.

Grayslake North will square off against Elk Grove at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Round Lake, they will challenge Wauconda at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
