The Encinal Jets will take on the Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Encinal is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Acalanes 16-6 on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Jets as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Encinal let Sonia Walker and Jaydah Tautalatasi - Robinson run wild. Walker fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Tautalatasi - Robinson got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs Tautalatasi - Robinson has posted since back in March of 2025. Kiely Wong was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Encinal always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .641. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Clayton Valley Charter never let their opponents score on Thursday. They put the hurt on James Logan with a sharp 10-0 victory. The game marked the Ugly Eagles' most dominant win of the season so far.
Maleeya Valencia was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Victoria Collins, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double.
Clayton Valley Charter's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Encinal, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Encinal hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Clayton Valley Charter struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Encinal couldn't quite get it done against Clayton Valley Charter in their previous matchup back in March of 2025 as they fell 6-3. Can the Jets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
